John is a broadly skilled
financial professional with more than 20 years' experience as a financial
planner.
In the course of his long, successful career as a teacher and recognized
leader in education, John was frustrated by the woeful lack of practical
financial knowledge available to students during their formal education.
Deciding to search for the knowledge necessary to prepare his students
to achieve successful financial futures, he became an avid student of
financial planning.
His research culminated in a series of brief lessons to teach students
the foundations of personal financial planning. Acclaimed by students
and teachers alike, the series was presented at area high schools and
gained a global audience through the AT&T Learning Network, an internationally
recognized education service.
In 1983, John moved from public education to join a national financial
services group, where he served as a regional vice president, recruiting
and training financial professionals. Subsequently, he was the principal
of a regional, independent broker-dealer.
Sensing that his financial planning clients desired a level of personal
involvement unavailable at these larger firms, John founded Financial
Sources, Inc., in 1986, and has been serving the financial planning
needs of the Lehigh Valley ever since.
John holds an undergraduate degree in political science and economics,
and a masters degree in education with a specialty in economics, both
from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
By pursuing an intensive study and testing program, John earned the
American College's "Chartered Financial Consultant" (CfHC) designation.
He is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals.
